Congratulations to Dr. Nasim Esmati for successfully defending her PhD dissertation.  We are all very proud of you for your defense but also in you job at Caymen Chemical in Ann Arbor.  Much success Nasim!

Professor Andreana will give a lecture at Case Western Reserve in the Department of Chemistry on November 8th, 2018.  More information to come.

Dr. Samir Ghosh has accepted a position in the AndreanaGroup as a postdoctoral fellow.  The entire group would like to welcome him back!  We look forward to amazing things from you!!!

Members of the AndreanaGroup, Kris Kleski, Pradheep Eradi and Gabrielle Therese Hymel, will attend the 256th ACS Boston Meeting in MA.

Undergraduate student Gabrielle Therese Hymel presented her work in the form of a poster at the 255th ACS National Meeting and Exposition in New Orleans, LA.  A job well done!

Professor Andreana now serves as a faculty mentor at the University of Toledo.

Professor Andreana comments on DNA gyrase as a new target for herbicide development in the news feed Chemistry World.  The Andreana Group has had a long standing interest in developing small molecules that are both herbicidal and bio-degradable.  Work in this area, by graduate students J.-P. Bourgault and N. Esmati, has shown that natural product Thaxtomin A can be very effective.  See here for our contributions so far to date.

Professor Andreana will travel to Lisbon, Portugal from July 15th-19th for the 2018 ICS Meeting.

Professor Andreana will travel to New Orleans for the ACS National Meeting in March.

Congratulations to Vinod Kumar Gattoji for his University of Toledo COGS-GSA Research Award.  His proposal was based on efforts towards understanding tumor associated carbohydrate antigen GD2 as a cell surface marker.

Congratulations to Krishnakant Patel for his first authored book chapter publication.  The chapter is titled:  "Recent Advances in the Stereochemical Outcome of Multicomponent Reactions Involving Convertable Isocyanides" and can be found in Coupling and Decoupling of Diverse Molecular Units in Glycosciences.  Springer International Publishing.  This and other Andreanagroup publications can be found here.
